Consumer Directed Services gives eligible individuals greater control over who provides their personal care and how that care is arranged.
A caregiver may be a qualifying family member, friend, or another trusted person selected by the participant. Valentine’s CDS helps organize the required steps, payroll support, documentation, and ongoing communication.

How CDS Works
01 — Confirm Eligibility
The individual must meet Missouri CDS eligibility and be able to direct their own care.
02 — Choose a Caregiver
The participant selects, trains, supervises, and directs a qualifying caregiver.

Valentine’s CDS assists with required documentation, payroll processing, program guidance, and ongoing support.

Is CDS Right for You?
Consumer-directed support may be available to adults who meet applicable eligibility requirements and are able to direct their own personal care.
- Age 18 or older
- Has a qualifying physical disability
- Able to direct and manage personal care
- Meets applicable coverage and program requirements
Eligibility and service authorization are determined through the appropriate review process.
